One of the rarest set of fight gloves in existence. These Jimmy Ellis amateur worn fight gloves where one of the few gloves in history that were worn to defeat Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali). These Jimmy Ellis signed worn fight gloves from are from an amateur bout with Cassius Clay on October 12 1967. Ellis won the bout via split decision. These gloves, along with Clay's gloves from the bout where both display pieces at the Columbia Gym in Louisville, KY. Clay and Ellis both started their boxing career at Columbia Gym in Louisville KY training under Police Chief trainer Joe Martin. These extremely rare gloves boast an excellent condition Jimmy Ellis signature as well as a Columbia Gym stamp and "ELLIS" inscribed on the inner cuff. Gary is in possession of both Ellis and Clay's gloves from this historic amateur bout.
