Cassius Clay worn fight gloves from the 1959 Louisville Golden Gloves Light-Heavyweight Championship against Charles Dobbins on Feb 18 1959. Clay won the bout by unanimous decision. Clay's victory at the Louisville Golden Gloves sent him on to Chicago, where he later won the National Golden Glove Light-Heavyweight Championship Chicago vs New York Intercity on March 25 1959 against Tony Madigan, qualifying Clay for the 1960 Olympics in Rome, where he brought home the Olympic Gold Metal.
The 1960 Olympic victory, coupled with back to back National Golden Glove victories in 59' & 60' was a sign of things to come for young Cassius Clay, who later became the greatest fighter to ever grace the sport of boxing.
