What an amazing find! This pair of Cassius Clay worn Post MFG. New York boxing gloves was found in police officer trainer Joe Martin's storage trunk at Columbia Gym in Louisville, KY. The gloves were found by Jole Martin, granddaughter of Joe Martin. Joe Martin was the police officer trainer who first taught young Cassius Clay how to box after Clay had is bike stolen, and ran the Golden Gloves program at the Columbia Gym in Louisville, KY. These rare gloves were worn by Cassius Clay in the late 1950's and were a part of the collection removed from the gym after it was closed.
